Patients who hold a valid Medicare card and hold a valid referral will receive a Medicare rebate within 24 - 48 hours.
Please note that the Medicare rebate is set by the Australian Government and represents a partial reimbursement only, meaning there will usually be an out-of-pocket expense.

PBS-FUNDED MUSCLE RELAXANT INJECTION FEES
The Pharmaceutical Benefits Sceme (PBS) helps eligible patients access PBS-subsidised muscle relaxant injections to assist in the treatment of conditions such as facial spasms, urinary incontinence, cervical dystonia and symptoms associated with cerebral palsy.
Patients eligible for PBS funded muscle relaxant injections will be required to sign a Co-Payment form and will receive a invoice from the pharmacy for the toxin used.

PRIVATE MUSCLE RELAXANT INJECTION FEES
Vials are 100 IU (international units). Physicians will use anywhere from 10 IU – 400 IU depending on the patient’s need. It takes 24 to 72 hours for the toxin to take effect. The longevity of the treatment ranges from 10 to 12 weeks. We will only charge for the amount of toxin injected and a consumable fee.
Depending on the type of muscle relaxant used, 1 vial ranges between $230-$495.
Muscle relaxant injections for Bruxism is $1300 ($1200 for review patients), including consult and procedural codes.
Note: Medicare rebate is approximately $400 - $490. You may also be eligible for a rebate from your private health insurer.

INJECTIONS UNDER IMAGING GUIDANCE
Cortisone (HCLA) injections are usually administered under ultrasound or CT guidance at one of our injecting clinics.
