Dr Tegan StewartRehabilitation Physician
MBBS, FAFRM (RACP) Dr Tegan Stewart is welcomed to join and get apart of the Queensland Rehabilitation Specialists team as a Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist.
Dr Stewart grew up in rural Far North Queensland and attained her medical degree at James Cook University, Townsville. She moved to the Sunshine Coast to complete herspecialist training across a mixture of public and private Rehabilitation clinics and inpatient facilities in the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane areas. Dr Tegan is experienced in and enjoy all areas of general Rehabilitation Medicine, with special interest areas including spinal cord injury rehabilitation, amputation, chronic and persistent pain management, acquired brain injury (including stroke, traumatic brain injury and concussion) and chronic disability management including monitoring, prevention and management of disease-related complications, such as spasticity. She is passionate about disability advocacy and helping her patients manage their unique health challenges to enable them to live the life they want to lead and to achieve the life goals that are important to them. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, serving at her local church community, making music, and – when she has time – writing romance novels. She also try to keep physically active by walking her dog or swimming, especially in the month of February each year when she joins the Starlight Foundation’s “Super Swim Challenge” to raise money for sick children.
